As Promised

Did you think I’d forgotten about my awesome meals that I kept raving about?  Of course not!  I absolutely have to share my first experience of oats in a jar and what, Chick’n and Waffles?  Yes, you read that right!  But first off…

My new favorite song right now: Two is Better Than One – Boys Like Girls feat Taylor Swift…

I SWOON!

Anyhow, enough of my music blabber, oats in a jar!  I finally finished off my jar of WF 365 PB last week!  There was about a tablespoons worth down at the bottom, and of course some on the edges, so I had to, right?  I actually had a breakfast cookie in a jar…so it’s a mix of both genius ideas from Gina and HeatherFabulous bloggers!!!

Mine contained a 1/3 C oats, smashed banana, dried cranberries, pb at the bottom, and a few blackberries on the top.  Nom nom.

Sorry, it looks gross, but I swear to you it was DIVINE!  Especially after running 2.5 miles before eating it!

And what is this?  Chik’n and waffles?  Yes, someone is getting creative with the food she has to eat before the end of the week when my work is DONE!   Actually, long time ago when I had TV and could watch food network, I think I was watching Diners, Dive-ins and Drives and I saw that what’s his face went to a place in Louisiana that served waffles with fried chicken and gravy…so…

I put together my HEB ww flax waffles, laugh cow cheese, mustard, tomato, onions and a Morningstar Chik’n Patty and VoiLA!

This tasted awesome because there was just a bit of sweetness from the waffles to contrast all the sharp tastes of well, everything else.  Now if only I had two more waffles (I now have one…how did that happen in a package of 6?) to do this again, cause I totally would…it was like being in a restaurant eating a real chicken sandwich again…but don’t get me wrong, I don’t really miss the taste of chicken…turkey on the other hand…hah!  Try it if you get a chance!

My eats for today were not exciting at all; lunch was PB&J and an apple, snacks were H2H in the car driving, dinner was 1 egg 2 whites omelet w/ veggies on top of spinach salad, and dessert…oh dessert.

I was thinking of Miss Jenny the entire time…frozen banana w/ dark chocolate dreams?  Oh yeah, you got that right.  Absolutely awesome.

And then I continued and topped it with a crumbled one two of Meghann’s Monster Cookies she sent me (and I froze) for my bday…divine!

I’m am absolutely zonked from all the driving I’ve done this weekend (I did just over 600 miles!  Yikes!) so early night for this lady!

Aren't oats in a PB jar amazing? I feel like they should sell nearly empty jars of nut butters for a fraction of the price, as breakfast receptacles :)

I LOVE your waffle and chicken idea. I think I saw that episode of the show as well! Sounds yummy!

I still haven't tried oats in a jar! Definitely need to get on that one from Heather and Gina - geniuses that they are ;o)

I love the savory waffle sandwich -- such a great idea! I think I'm going to have to try that with scrambled eggs sometime...delish.

Get some sleep! Glad your weekend was pretty pleasant :o)

oohhmaahhgaahh, I love that song also, hehe! It makes me smile :)

I'll have to give it to you-- for someone who doesn't eat chicken, you made it look appetizing, hah.

Get some sleep, lovely lady!
With tons of love,
Rebecca

Mmm, I love oats in a jar! It's like 360 degree pb action ;) The waffle sammie looks amazing, too. Ugh, that's a ton of driving! I hope you get some good rest tonight :)

I definitely need to try the waffle sandwich idea! I've been thinking of making some savory waffles with my waffle maker too, which would work perfectly.
I also wanted to share that you're helping inspire my fitness goals! I did your workout on friday that you posted the other day (minus the running) and OMG I"m still sore. I worked off some of the soreness today by doing 2.5 miles on the treadmill! I'm so proud of myself! I only walked a total of 3 minutes of the total 30, and I don't think I've jogged more than 1 mile at once in over 2 years. Maybe one day I'll get to do marathons too! I'm at least going to aim for a 5 k soon.
Glad you had a good time in corpus! I used to go a lot and my dad actually still plays for their symphony and was there this weekend playing with the Big Bad Voodoo Daddies if you by any chance heard that was going on.
Have a great final week of work!

I used to take waffle sandwiches to work last year and everyone would lean in close and gasp with amazement. It was a bit awkward honestly. But I never stopped because the savory waffle sandwich deserves the attention.

Love,
Sally

Way to get creative with your chik'in & waffles :D And I'm highly jealous of your Dark Chocolate Dreams. I haven't had any of that around in ages. It's so pricey!
