I did so many things today…I feel so accomplished!
Here’s an overview, so if you want to skip things you might think boring, I’ll understand.
- Toe Tapping (don’t worry, no grody pictures!)
- Post 1/2 Marathon Run
- Buying Necessities
- PureFit Bar Review
- I USED THE OVEN!!!
- iGoogle, You Hate Me
After breakfast I finally caught up on blogs and finally headed out for my workout. As you saw on my San Antonio 1/2 Marathon Recap I got a pretty nasty blister on my middle toe, that extended all the way under the toe, and not just on the side. It popped the other day and I’ve been taking care of it, and I couldn’t stand to take another day off of running, so I tapped it up like mad, along w/ the other two toes adjacent to it, and headed out for a nice warm morning jog. I headed out with the intention of doing only three, but I felt so great I did 4 miles! And I even kept the mile averages via my watch (unlike the awesome Garmin Ashley got; jealous!):
- 8:40
- 8:35
- 8:30
- 8:45
Man was I flying! After setting up my towel outside (ahhh…love the outdoors, like Miss Jenny) and did some strength training:
- 20 pushups
- 50 bicycle crunches
- 50 crunches
- 50 reverse curls
- 50 bridge lifts
- 25 laying down side leg lifts (each leg)
- 30 laying down inner leg lifts (each leg)
- 30 supermans, laying down
Whew! My tummy was growling after that like mad! Digging into lunch…two carrots w/ hummus, an apple, an Arnold’s Thin with an egg and two whites, hummus, tomato and spinach.
I headed out to get my car fixed up (brake problems = safety hazard!) and then to my old workplace to see my old friends. The smell of glorious chocolate was overwhelming and I had to choose between these two bars:
Of course I picked the healthier one! I got a sample of all the PureFit Bar flavors at the Healthy Expo before the race and decided to try out the Peanut Butter Crunch today.
I only ate half, knowing that I was going to be eating dinner very soon…and the verdict?
I could definitely taste the peanut butter but after chewing for a bit the bar started to taste a bit chalky. Obviously I’ll eat the other half of the bar, but I’ll certainly pair it with something as it kept me full for about an hour only. Or maybe I was just really starving…and my body is still on Texas time. Hah! I’m certainly excited for the other three flavors though, because I remember tasting the Berry Almond flavor at the Expo and liked that one…until next time!
I then headed over to REI and proceeded to spend a lot of money on a new pair of running shoes, a new pair of sandals for work when I got to Miami/The Everglades, and some water/work pants...the shoes were on clearance and the pants well...not so much. Ouch.
Anyhow, got home and FINALLY FINALLY GOT TO USE THE OVEN!!! I don’t know that you understand how excited I was to actually make a meal out of this hot hot baby…so what did I make? PIZZA OF COURSE!
I topped a whole wheat pita w/ some vegetable marinara sauce then zucchini, bell pepper, spinach, onion and a little bit of mozzarella…
Along with a salad filled with spinach, cucumbers, tomatoes and chickpeas…
And then some grapes and cantaloupe to finish it out.
I watched a movie with mom and had some dessert: Two of Meghann’s Monster Cookies…and extra grapes. Nom.
Now I’m catching up on past GG and One Tree Hill episodes…Ciao!
Oh yeah, and then I went to check blogs for tonight and bam! No more iGoogle! WHAT THE H-E DOUBLE HOCKEY STICKS!? All gone...all gone...now I'm trying to remember what was on all my tabs and remake it all...so pissed.

yay for a productive day. :)
Can't believe you're already up and running again after your half...and fast, too! You're greased lightnin'!
What a busy, productive day! Nice splits on your four-miler, and awesome pizza!
Wow sounds like an awesome day! Yay for that. :)
Have a great Thursday!
What a great day! I love feeling productive.
Thanks for the product review!
Hi Melissa - I used to get nasty blisters on my toes until I tried these socks http://www.injinji.com/ - they are amazing - no more nasty blisters!
mmm I see you took care of the productiveness for the both of us. It's 5:00pm and I may or may not still be in my PJs ;)
I swear I could eat a different variation of pizza for EVERY SINGLE MEAL. So darn good.
