There Must Be Something Wrong With Me

Because I didn’t eat my chocolate today.  What????!!!!

Man, I wanted to wake up positive and happy this morning, but that didn’t happen; bugger all.  So, sometimes I sleep with earplugs in because it helps me sleep a lot better…but when you sleep with them it also means that if you set an alarm, you won’t hear it.  Then, you wake up too many times during the night, wondering if you’ve overslept your 6am wakeup time.  Booohiss!

And when you’re tired after not much sleep and trying to make your lunch at 6.15am, this is what happens:

That is marinara all over my feet, and most comfy pj bottoms I own.  Bugger all.

But as soon as I got to work, with the breakfast I forgot yesterday, I was pretty excited cause it tasted AWESOME: marinated apple and black berries in cinnamon w/ 0% Greek yogurt, a banana, and 1T pb.  Holy mackerel it was heaven, in tupperware.

By upping the volume and calories of my breakfast (now eaten at 7.30am instead of 8.30am with time change) I actually lasted all the way till lunch time!  I started off with a kiwi (eaten like an apple):

Then Spaghetti squash mixed w/ marinara and a laughing cow wedge, on top of spinach and cucumbers.  There were also two carrots consumed beforehand.

Since my lunch was pretty devoid of PROTEIN, my stomach was still screaming after all of that.  In comes my mini bags of homemade trail mix.

Take that, times two, minus the chocolate chips and m&m’s.  Yes, I did not eat the chocolateWhy? Because, I knew that if I did I would not be able to stop and I’m trying to control this mindless eating I’m encountering more often than not.  That and nuts are better for you.  And the sweetness from the dried fruit does the trick. :)

About an hour before my run my tummy was rumbling again, so I went ahead and had a Super Foods Odwalla Bar.  Awesome.

I was way tired today and really stiff from yesterday’s strength trainings (which btw, I didn’t think it was that much…was it a lot?) but went on a slower 5 mile run (in 45.45) just after work, and did some much needed stretching afterwards.  It was quite nice.

Famished by the time I cleaned up, I prepared the fastest dinner I could: Amy’s Black Bean Chili, with spaghetti squash (in more tupperware) and Kashi TLCrackers (in my recycled for other uses Oikos Greek Yogurt container).

And then I snacked on an apple while watching Amelie.  I love this movie…makes me want to go back to speaking French again!!  Can you believe I took 6 years of it, high school and college combined?  And now, I can’t speak a lip of it if I wanted to…boo.

I won’t be commenting and will try to be reading posts tonight but my internet is literally crawling, with like 1,000,000 lbs of weight for waiting for anything to load…boohiss.  I can’t wait to catch up on your blogs as soon as things start getting better over here!  10 more days till 1/2 marathon, and officially only 7 days of work left! Eek!

I always pack my lunch the night before because I KNOW I'll have accidents in the morning :)

Sorry about the PJs! that breakfast sounds divine!

1. I'd be lucky if I could get 4 miles in your slower 5 mile time. ;)
2. I HATE when I drop crap and it splatters all over my floor. Irks me to no end!
3. MAD PROPS to not eating the chocolate. It's fair to say I had more chocolate than you did today. ;)
4. You're awesome, that's all. :)

Hey girl!
It's much more acceptable to spill at 6:15am than when I usually spill (at every single meal and/or snack)! haha, I'm the clumsiest, messiest person but that's ok-- It's what makes me, me.

I think you should have an EXTRA piece of chocolate to make up for the piece lost in battle :)

Have a fabulous night!

Well, I pack my lunch at night because I don't want to have to do it in the morning. :) I'm sooo lazy at 5:30 AM...

That is so cool about taking French for 6 years! I bet if you were subjected to it again, it would come back very quickly. I've heard that happening to people. It's like riding a bike ;)

Aw, your lunch! I dropped my PB&J face-down on the floor yesterday... big mess, but I ate it anyway!

Hope you have a better day tomorrow, and I'm so excited for your half!!!

Bah, the marinara disaster would be enough to put my in a grouchy mood for the rest of the day. Good thing you're such a peppy lady. :)

Hey, I took French from kindergarten through grade 12, and I'm not exactly fluent in it either. LOL.
