I Found Nothing

I was out all day and found nothing (ie new jeans and a new top) and am royally…upset pissed.  I hate wasted time like that, especially when I don’t really like shopping that much in the first place.  Blah.

Anyhow…I tried to leave this morning and get out to do some bird watching but due to the road closures and the closeness of the Marathon course, I couldn’t leave the apt!  It was so crowded and the streets were packed…so I sat around and had a snack: 1.5C H2H.  What a nice snack…

And knowing I wasn’t going to be back for a while I had an apple and two carrots with 40 Spices hummus before heading out the door.

I finally jaunted off to Whole Foods to hunt down some things for my Blogger Secret Santa and then headed off to Lake Folsom to do some birding.  It was absolutely gorgeous there and I wish I could live there.  Forever.  Except when it’s cold, like now.  So…I want the colors and the heat.  Can’t I have both?

Then I walked around an Outlet Mall before it started raining…and headed to another mall where I finally was getting hangry..people in the mall must have thought I was absolutely pissed at something! haha!  So…having like, 5 bars stashed in my bag I decided to have 1/2 of this one for a snack:

Almond Crunch PureFit Bar

I’ve tried their Peanut Butter Bar which you can see my review for here.  Anyhow, I was a bit leery of this one, being so sticky and not really having any smell to it (Eh?) but it was ok.  I’m not much of an almond fan (peanuts and cashews all the way!) so the flavor wasn’t very impressive to me.  It also had a very sweet yet oddly sugary taste to it…I can’t quite describe it.  Overall I would give it a 2/5…but if you like Almonds you might want to try it because you can def chew on the chunks in there!

I finally got back and settled on a shared dinner of 2/3 or a huge baked potato with leftover black beans and rotelle with chives, and some fruit salad.

Your baked potato looks quite tasty, indeed.

I always go out with great aspirations of getting a lot of nice clothes, but I usually end up disappointed. Ugh, I really dislike shopping.

We should go together and be shopping grouches.

Go figure. I spent last night watching The Holiday too. Can you say kindred spirits? :)

I do enjoy your blog so much. And thanks for the comment(ing) on mine. I appreciate the fact that you try to balance being real and being just "regular" also. A difficult balance isn't it? The GRE? What program have you been studying and what do you hope to do in the future? (have a nice day :)...and if you would like to you can add me to your blogroll :)
