This post has excitement in it, but not as much as the one I’m going to post about tomorrow. Lets put it this way, it had me in tears. REAL TEARS. And thank goodness, these were happy omg I feel so much better you made my day tears.
Anyhow…My food was pretty boring today…
Breakfast was light after last nights feast with the family: Kashi Sunshine with a banana and Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Breeze.
I don’t know where the morning went. Oh yeah, I spent it reading the “F- My Life” book my brother got for Christmas. I’m sorry, I had to laugh at it.
Mom needed to run errands so I grabbed food to go:
3/4 a mango and a medium apple
Vegan Energy Bar (I’m totally making more of these in various flavors to take to AZ on Monday for snacks!)
We were out for quite a while and by the time I got home I was hangry, but wanted to get a workout in before it got any colder or darker. So I quickly consumed an apple, and a HUGE MUG filled with corn chex and Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Breeze.
I was excited for my run today since I was planning on getting some speed work in (I soooo badly want to break my 1/2 Marathon time in Miami next month!) at the track! Here’s how it went:
- 1.75 mile jog to the track
- 6x 100m sprints (100m jog after each)
- 2x 200m sprints (200m jog after each)
- 1.8 mile jog back home
I felt so good afterwards and was actually still clipping a good pace going home, even after making my muscles fatigued from the speed.
Of course I also wanted to strengthen up those muscles, so I did a bit of strength training, and I did every move extremely slow to make them more difficult:
- 30 bicycle crunches
- 30 crunches
- 30 reverse curls
- 50 bridge poses
- 20 lying side leg lifts
- 30 lying inner leg lifts
- 40 laying squats (done w/ resistance band)
- 100 side punches (weighted: 2 lbs each hand)
- 100 front punches (weighted: 2 lbs each hand)
- 30 bicep curls (weighted 2lbs each hand and with resistance band)
- 30 tricep curls (weighted 2lbs each hand and with resistance band)
- 50 standing side kicks
- 30 donkey kicks
- 20 standing side leg lifts
- 1 min plank
Whew! You can bet I was hungry for dinner! I’m trying to finish up all the cooked vegetables before we head off to AZ on Monday, so I piled my bowl high with spaghetti squash, marinara, a laughing cow light cheese, and leftover roasted vegs from last night. I also had 1/2 a whole wheat kaiser roll on the side.
And I finished off the night with a small amount of Vanilla Frozen Yogurt.
Edited to Add: I was still a bit hungry so I had a mug of about 3/4C Kashi Sunshine and 5 PB Pretzel Nuggets from Jenn.
And of course my excitement for today came in a package from my BLOGGER SECRET SANTA:
Leslie from www.TheWholePlate.com!
She saw how much baking I did from the blog and sent me some great goods to bake with including: crystallized ginger, sweetened cacao nibs, dried apples and cinnamon almonds, Amaretto flavored Agave Nectar! OMG on the last one! I wonder how it’s going to taste in all my goods…nom nom!
Thank you so much Leslie and I can’t wait to start reading up on your blog!!!!
I’m off to start writing prewritten blog posts for when I’m gone, and will be traveling later ACROSS THE COUNTRY! Weeeeeeeeee!!!
