My Legs Just Kept Going

Miss my exciting weekend?

--

My stomach was totally off today, as was my mood.  For some reason I was just in a funk, so thank goodness I was away from my parents most of the day or it might have gotten ugly. Haha…I’m feeling better now though!

Lunch wasn’t picture worthy or exciting: Arnold’s Thin w/ regular hummus, an apple, and about a cup of grapes.

See, I told you.

So, I had a 12 miler planned for today, but since my belly was off, along with all of my muscles from kickboxing (you should see me try to sit and stand) and I was tired, I decided to just go out for a 4 miler

I started at 4, felt good and thought why not do 5?  I still felt good, so I went to 6, and then ended up finishing up with EIGHT MILES!  I felt pretty good the whole time, taking a much slower pace than I normally do (I’m guessing around 9.30 min/mile since I left my watch at Bobbi’s and just used the total time on my cell phone) and finished in 1hr 16 minutes.  Then my belly revolted as soon as I stopped, and I’m sure you can use your imagination to figure out what might have happened next.

I hadn’t anticipated on running that many miles, so after cleaning up you can bet I was hungry!  I definitely hadn’t fueled well beforehand, so in comes the food!

I have been wanting fries for about a week, but just hadn’t had the time or opportunity to make them (I almost bought some at In N Out the other day that’s how bad I wanted them!), so tonight was the night for it!  I cut up a medium sized russet potato and covered it in a mixture of spices (cumin, garlic, coriander, curry, paprika, chili powder) and baked at 425F for 30 minutes.  I mean, look at those…nom!

And to try to get my body back in gear and put some nutrition in it, I made a nice veggie and chickpea side to go with the potatoes!

My mixture included onions, green bell pepper, mushrooms, broccoli, chickpeas, all cooked and warmed in marinara, and topped with a piece of laughing cow light.

I wanted to use the leftover marinara to dip my potato pieces in, but there was none left, so I did grab some ketchup for dipping materials. I don’t have ketchup that often, was almost weird to taste it again!

Now I’m off to decorate the Christmas Tree with Mom, and hopefully not kill each other in the process. :)  (Love you Mom!)

I find not commiting myself to a certain amount of miles makes running farther that much easier.

Love roasted potatoes!!!

I love your productive weekend! And no joke, kickboxing requires some kind of coordination that I don't have!

Sorry about your stomach issues and funky mood today! I hope tomorrow is better on both accounts.
