And let you in on my secret to saving money via Caitlin’s Responsible Spending Challenge!

I pretend like I have no money.  Yep, even though I have a pretty decent savings that I’ve been working on for years with my low paying jobs, I still pretend like I have none.  The only time I really use my money is for food (duh) and travel (I can never hold back on that!  Adventure and travel is in my BLOOD!).

Gee, after the beginning of this post I doubt you want to read the rest of it!  Whew!  I’ll make it quick:

Apple for breakfast before running out the door for errands, then home starving for this menage a duex (haha): Spicy Tribe hummus and pretzel thins

blog 045

and an awesome apple with a piece of the Pumpkin Chocolate Loaf I brought with me:

I went out for a run on the Sacramento River near the bestie’s apt and got back starving!  After 5.5 miles in 49 minutes, I’m not surprised!  I had a PB bar and some Trail mix…

Then I went to Trader Joe’s (LOVE…) and picked up ingredients for dinner: TJ’s Marsala Burgers w/ Broccoli Slaw, some leftover hummus and an orange.  yum.

blog 052

Then there was dessert…dried mangoes and H2H cereal…I didn’t eat the chocolate chips.  Don’t hate.

Now watching 90210, the new version…guilty pleasure. :)

Don’t forget about my Oh Nuts! Giveaway!!!

I wasn't reading your blog a year ago, so this was a good recap! I like your dog!

I think pretending like you don't have much is a GREAT way to save. Our incomes have gone up a bit in the 5 years we've been married, but we've basically kept the same budget, so we've been able to save more and had a bit extra when we needed it. Every little bit helps!

I love looking back at my older posts! It's so neat to flashback to see the weather, the activities and the food.

I'm loving the recap. Most especially the baking flashbacks. I remember I made those magic in the middle cookies at some point in the past year - SO good omg. Just the dough itself was to die for.

I definitely do the 'pretend I have no money' deal fairly often. It really does help! I try to be stingy a lot of the time. Sometimes I'm a little TOO stingy. And then sometimes I just go and blow a bunch of cash all at once. Most of the time I try to balance it out though and spend WISELY haha.
