This is why I love living in Florida! Sun, heat and beach!!!
I feel horrible for all of you that got smacked by snow storms today. I’m sending heat and sunshine your way!
Since getting my new camera at Christmas I’ve been dying to do some landscape photography; it’s my second love!
We went into the park and all the way to the end to see the lighthouse!
I love this one…the clouds in the background and sun shining from the side…so relaxing to see while I went on my walk.
But seriously, how could that be the best part of my day?! It doesn’t stop there!
We were all starving by the time we left the beach, and started to head to an Italian place I’d been before, but decided to get Indian instead. I think we made a great decision.
We ended up at this Indian place called Ayesha after walking around a bit looking at other places to eat.
It was small inside, but had enough room to fit our party of six!
They started off by serving us an appetizer of these flaxseed and pepper chips (??) with a side that was pretty spicy, and I think made of onions? (Hey Gina, any idea what this is?!)
They first served us our saffron basmati rice…
And I ordered the Okra Bhandi described as “Okra cooked with tomatoes, onions, ginger and spices.”
One of my coworkers ordered the Navrattan Sahi Korma, described as “Fresh vegetables cooked with spice flavor sauce garnished with nuts and cream sauce.”
We had planned to share the dishes more evenly but when I realized after ordering there was cream in his dish, I knew my tummy wouldn’t take it well. So I had a bit to try, he took some of mine, and I finished off the bowl of my okra!
It was amazing! And I loved the spice that there was in the dish…it was make’n me sweat! I was looking for something different for dinner and this definitely didn’t disappoint!
On the way home I couldn’t help but suggest I had seen a little frozen yogurt place and had to have it for dessert!
I went for half of mint chocolate and some vanilla…I like to get pb and chocolate normally, but no pb here, at least at the moment. I sure know we’ll be going back here, since Mondays are 2 for 1!!! This is going to be dangerous… ;)
Now I’m ready to finish watching a movie and get to bed…but before I leave, I thought I’d show you my cool purchase from today!
I’ve been having difficulty with some blisters between three of my toes and per suggestion of Amanda’s friend Kim, I decided to invest in these injinji socks:
I don’t form blisters when I run anything below eight miles, but when I run things like Half Marathons or go on longer training runs, I’ve had to tape my toes and at this point…it simply doesn’t work!
So hopefully when I get back to running (btw, my knee and leg are feeling GREAT!) these will work fantastically with preventing blisters!!!
Excitement tomorrow! How are you spending your Sunday? Watching the game? My time will be occupied with:
- Short and slow jog (any pain, I’M STOPPING!)
- Huge Farmer’s Market
- Blogger Meetup
- Grocery shopping!
Nighty night!
