Right now I’m watching Obama sign the health care bill!
Holy moly the world is about to change!!!
What does everyone think about the whole thing? I’m just excited because I think it’s a huge step for the United States, but really don’t know what it’s going to do for me in the end. I have my own health insurance now and it’s ripping me to shreds, but alas…maybe something good will come out of it for me!
Anyhow this morning was a bit hectic. My current ailment meant I needed to go to the doctors this morning, which I hate (doctors make me nervous and I always end up with atrocious bills), so I made sure to fill up on a good breakfast:
It was my normal bowl of banana cinnamon oats, but I added frozen blueberries for some extra kick. Def helped make the morning that much better.
4 hrs later, a doctor, meds and raging hunger attack, I was back at home ready for lunch at 11am!
I wanted savory, asap, so I went with a grilled hummus and cheddar cheese sandwich with mushrooms and bell peppers.
And a side of strawberries.
And as I’m running out the door I’m having two handfuls of these! Chocolate and peanuts: sweet and protein! yay!

i'm very pleased with the health care bill. as someone who works freelance, i've been denied for preexisting conditions. it's such a pain in the ass.
i'm also unsure of what the healthcare bill really means for me, but i'm currently on my parents' insurance, as their plan allows full time students to be covered until age 25. i know the new bill allows you to stay on it until age 26, so maybe you can get back on theirs to save some money?
i hope you feel better! your grilled sammie looks so yummy! i wish i had the patience to actually grill sandwiches, they taste so much better that way.
I hope the doctors visit went well! I'm glad that the bill will give more needy people care!!
Your oats and sandwich look wonderful. I love hummus and cheese together. And chocolate and hummus together too!
Happy Tuesday :)
Hope you're feeling better, Melissa!
That's awesome! I never thought of peanut m&ms as chocolate and protein!
What I want to know is if taxes will start to be increased to cover the expenses. I know the tax in Canada is rather high in comparison to ours, but I'm not sure why exactly that is.
That sounds like a really great sandwich! I wish I had a grilled sandwich for lunch.
I have to say, I'm not pleased with the bill. My dad is a doctor and I've yet to hear of one person in the healthcare system who thinks it's well-crafted. I'm all for universal healthcare, but I think that the current bill's stipulations exceed the financial resources available, largely at the cost of hospitals and doctors.
Yummmm dark chocolate peanut M&M's!! I can't wait until Lent is over to have some :)
I watched him sign it, even though I admit to not knowing much about what it will do. At least it's something?
And you know I would sign a bill for chocolate covered peanuts in every household :-)
I'm slightly embarrassed to admit that I'm actually a little naive in terms of the whole health care thing. I need to do my research!
LOVE YOU BOOOO!!!
I don't have much that I want to say publicly about the health care bill, mostly because it's such a polarizing issue.
In any event, your sandwich looks awesome.
