Thank you to everyone for your responses about my Side Note yesterday about Body Checks and Glances in the Mirror. I will definitely keep you updated on my progress and I hope you will keep me updated on yours! Tell me what you’ve decided to do to fight the checks and work on saying better things about yourself! I have talked about this once before and thought I would give you the link to what I did last time (I can’t do that right now because I share a bathroom with another girl, but in the future it might happen again!) in hopes of providing some inspiration! I know we can all move past this and build up better mindsets.
Want to know what I did today instead of my routine? I took a good look in the mirror and said, “Damn, your natural highlights are awesome. People pay big bucks for those!” And no joke there, I have people ask me where I’ve gotten my hair done and my reply is, “I’ve been running in the sun for almost 10 years, it just happens.” Let me hear something nice you’d say when you look in the mirror!
~~
I flew again today and really enjoyed this flight because we soar over my favorite parts of the Everglades: Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge.
This area is always so beautiful to me with the abundance of tree islands…
I tried for a panorama shot but it didn't’ work out too well, being taken from inside a moving airplane…
Anyhow, breakfast was the same as yesterday except instead of some AB I used CB, hidden in the middle underneath everything…was a great surprise to come upon while inhaling my food.
I came home and was craving eggs like mad! What better than to have my version of Mama Peas Crack Wrap: Hummus and Eggs, not Cheese. Oh yeah baby. This suck’ah was deeeelightful.
I added in some fresh tomato slices and artichoke and had it on toasted sourdough bread. On the side I had some frozen blueberries and a fresh from CALIFORNIA naval orange.
And for dessert: Pumpkin Muffin.
I spent the afternoon doing data entry and knew I was going to run so snacked on an apple and h2h mixed with some dark chocolate edamame. You totally knew that was coming!
I set out into the freak’n I’m-going-to-blow-you-away-wind and ran a good 5.6 miles and then did the last .4 as 50m fartleks. It was insane going against the 30mph gusting wind, but hey, RESISTANCE TRAINING right?!
I was famished as you can imagine afterwards and dug into my dinner that I prepared earlier in the day: POLENTA!
Actually, it never molded like it was supposed to…so I guess it’s grits?
Anyhow, I made it earlier with some salt and Italian seasonings, and topped it off w/ marinara, chickpeas, broccoli and cauliflower. Mighty tasty combo if you ask me! I’m got leftovers, so expect to see it again!!!
And I’ve got the baking bug so I made the Apple Spice Muffin Mix Jasmine sent me in my care package a bit ago. I subbed out the butter for applesauce and used USAB instead of 2% milk. Came out perfect! And I spread on a bit of yogurt butter just for kicks!
Now I’m off to dream land…and hopefully it’ll be better than last night where I had a dream about my ex and it must have been bad, because I woke up crying. Never a good sign…

Sorry to hear about the bad gym. Love the idea of positive mirror affirmations - I need to do that! The apple spice muffins sound awesome too, yum.
I hear ya about the bad dream... boys are sucking a lot lately, hey?
Crack wrap!!! You've inspired me to make one with soy mozarella tomorrow. Have a great Friday, hon.
I made that same sandwich (well with spinach instead of artichokes) last weekend and the hummus + egg is soooo good. I also made an egg white scramble with some hummus added in too, also good! :)
Hummus and eggs rock. And have I mentioned that I'm loving all the aerial views you've been posting?
When I look in the mirror I tell my self "Damn, you look good for a 36yr old Mom of 2". HA!!!
Between the pumpkin, your crack wrap, and that dinner you had one tasty day! Good job with the positivity!! I hope you had a good night of sleep minus dreams about the ex!
HAPPY FRIDAY :)
Just found your blog! You have some tasty looking recipes on here...I can't wait to try some! So is polenta the same thing as grits? I've been trying to figure that out over the past two weeks and I've got nothing!

I always love seeing your landscape pictures!!
Okay, I guess I could say "at least all your hair isn't grey yet!"
Hugs and Happy Friday!
Dreams about exes..fun times. I think we should just stick with the whole "boys suck" thing because really, it works for me.
I wish you a peaceful sleep full of non-ex dreams :)
Great eats!!
Fartleks are intense! and so is the wind. Wow! let me know if you figure out the best way to take pics out of an airplane; I've never mastered it. have a nice weekend!

That wind running will pay off in the end. (Even if we don't have hills here, we have a good deal of wind, so I convince myself that it is making me STRONGER!)
Hummus and eggs? Genius combination!
