At the last minute our PhD Candidate decided to treat us to dinner for all the hard work we did last week mowing and building…the works.
Can ya feel the love?
Well, I was when she offered up dinner for us! I was in charge of finding somewhere to go with my vegetarian status (update on that to come) and of course used my favorite dining website UrbanSpoon to find something in the area we were going to be in.
She mentioned Thai or Indian, and since I know I’m having Indian this weekend I thought we would go with something Asian. The first thing that caught my eye was the 76% “like it” and of course the Zagat rating for Fuji Hana in Kendall!
The menu was a mix of Thai and Japanese dishes and sushi; the menu was like, 8 pages long! Definitely an assortment of things to choose from!
One of the crew started off with a Pork Gyoza appetizer with a Teriyaki Sesame Dressing on the side.
I had a Miso soup to start…
And for my meal had a Vegetable Roll…
and a Kappa (cucumber) roll.
Brit ended up getting the Zombie Roll which had salmon, tuna, snapper, masago, avocado, and scallion with miso sauce…
and the Spicy Crunchy Tuna Roll which had tuna, avocado, tempura flakes topped with tuna and spicy mayo.
She also got a California Hand Roll to try out since she usually gets the regular roll!
Someone else got the Caribbean Roll which had seared scallops, tempura crumbs, scallion, asparagus, and Kampyo, topped with avocado…
and the Bahamas Roll (I think…) which had conch fritter, crab, cucumber, scallion, I/O with spicy mayo.
Another person got the Eel Roll which included eel and some vegetables…
and the Shrimp Tempura Roll which included shrimp tempura, avocado, asparagus, scallions, and roe.
Jason got the Spicy Tuna Roll which had tuna, avocado and cucumber…
along with a tofu curry dish.
And to round everything out, my boss got Pork Katsu for his dish!
It was a great dinner overall, the prices were decent for us poor folk, the service was super attentive and helpful, and the place was pretty and quaint. We all gave it between an 8-8.5. We’ll definitely come here if our fancy strikes us again!
Alright, I got a long day tomorrow of nest checks so I gotta hit the sack. Hope everyone had a good Monday (and lets just say…only dinner is posted because that is how well my Monday went…uh huh).
