Two Weeks

It’s exactly two weeks until I pack up my car and start heading West (well, technically North first, but you know what I mean) to go home and start my new job!  It’s quite nerve racking!  I get nervous every time I have to start a new job…but I know that after getting settled I’m going to be having a blast!

I’m sure you know my motto about work/choosing jobs, but I’ll give it to you again, Do what you love; don’t do it for the money…just be able to put the food on your plate, roof over your head and smile on your face.  Life’s not worth living doing things you don’t want to do or hate!”  Actually, I give props to my pappi for that…he always tells me to do WHAT I WANT…and no matter how miserable I might get being outside/hot/dirty/getting hurt…I always have a job at a desk somewhere making $$ if I wanted it…Uh, no thanks!

I woke up to a bit of a chilly and overcast/rain threatening morning.  And of course what did I want, the one day it’s cold?  A smoothie of course (I think it’s streaming off of yesterday’s visit to Robert Is Here)!  I decided to make my normal mix of fruits including a frozen banana, frozen blueberries and fresh strawberries, added in some USAB and a HANDFUL OF SPINACH!

I have only had a green monster once in my life, and that was back in January when I visited Lindsey and she made it for me.  So actually, this is my first time ever making my own!

I don’t have any sort of protein powder so I decided to go with using A SPOONFUL (makes me giddy every time I write this, knowing I didn’t use a tablespoon!) of TJ’s PB and A HANDFUL (giddy for this too!) of Kashi H2H.  Was a scrumptious bowl of smoothie and extras!

I have spent all morning in front of my computer working on finding birds in photos from the flights I did last week…so you can imagine how enthusiastic i am about that…especially with the weather.  Makes me want to crawl back into bed.  I mean, I’m still in my PJ’s yoga capris and a t-shirt…

So of course I had to have a small err…large (ie two big handfuls) snack to help me out.  These lovelies were on sale yesterday at Publix so I couldn’t pass it up!  And I paired them up with an unpictured CA Navel Orange…cracks me up eating CA produce in FL!

1004190007And now I’m debating whether I’m really hungry for lunch or just want it because it’s noon…otherwise I’m working on a Side Note that I’ve been working on for a while but have been a bit hesitant to post (since I have gotten flack about this subject in the past…) but thanks to a talk with Jessie this weekend, I’m going to give it a go!  Wait for it tonight!!!

I almost bought those pretzels (what a great deal)...but passed. Now I'm thinking about going back to the store ;). I love your work theory...I'm working on making some changes to be doing more of what I love too <3 Have a great day

So exciting! I always found that strange about produce when I lived in Florida, I always preferred CA oranges and avocados. I can't find FL avocados anywhere in CA ... not that that's a problem! :-P Good luck!

I left a job 7 years ago where I was making more then I am now (and now I have a master's degree). I completely agree with what you are saying!

Can't wait to hear more about your new job.

Very curious about the side note...
Peanut butter pretzels are AMAZING!!

As for the work thing, I completely agree. Life is short and you don't want to spend a huge chunk of it miserable you know? I recently changed my career path for that very reason. It wasn't easy but I know that I'll be much happier doing what I love in the end!

Your pops is super smart - LOVE the quote, if only I was that wise when I was your age :D LOL.

I can't wait to read about the side note.

I get excited when I don't measure foods too :) I've tackled PB and cereal, but I'm still working on not measuring the old "fear foods," like ice cream and cooking oil!

It's great you've found a job doing something you love. So many people never do, for whatever reason, so it's awesome that you're already following your passion at such a young age!

Can't wait for tonight's post!!
