I Play With Poo…

Did I get your attention?  I thought so!

I apologize in advance for my lack luster posts in the coming days since I’ll be working 10hr days all week…and I’m already tired and still exhausted from last weekend! Oh, but thank you all for the wonderful comments about my dress and makeup!  I seriously thought I looked like I had given myself raccoon eyes…but when I think about it, they’re just bags! Haha!

Anyhow, today was a long day of walking with my new coworker and another out in the fields.  I most certainly didn’t drink enough water as within hours my fingers were so swollen I was on the verge of tears.  More hydration tomorrow!  But I do take into consideration that my fingers also swell when they get too cold!  I know, my body is foooook’ed up in some ways.

Our morning started off way early with a 5.30am wake up call and far too much light coming into my room.  Arg…this chick needs to invest in some lights…or just find my eye mask, in my madness of luggage (yes, I’m not don’t moving in…)

I tried my hardest to stomach my oatmeal but for some reason I was so nauseous I couldn’t finish it before going out to work.  I took the rest with me and ended up eating it as my mid morning snack.

The rest of the morning I found some of these…

Owl Pellets!  Can you see the bug shells and animal bones?!  Eek!

Yes, I play with poo.  Ok, in reality I examine it to find out if it’s the kind of bird I’m looking for.  It’s not voluntary.

Lunch time could not have come sooner…I was getting hangry, and weak.  Too much walking…and it was freezing w/ super super strong winds!  Veg hummus sandwich to the rescue…with an apple…

And one of the best trail mixes on the planet:

Oh TJ’s I’ll never move away from you again.

More poo time…

A different kind of owl pellet.  I know, it looks like something your little dog would do, but I promise, it’s not.  And if it was, it would be from a coyote.  Obviously that makes it acceptable.

I could not wait for dinner tonight.  My excitement for it was what kept me going through my 10+ hr work day: Roasted veggies!!!

I mixed up a sweet potato with some olive oil and leftover tomato basil garlic spice rub, along with some frozen cauliflower and broccoli.

Hot damness it was tasty.

I also had some of TJ’s Soy Nuggets for the first time…and they kinda tasted like fish sticks.  Weird no?  I think next time they’re definitely going to be cooked on the skillet next time to add the much needed crunchiness to the breading on the outside.  They fall apart really easily too..and are kinda bland.  Huh, guess i didn’t really enjoy them in the end.  Oh well…wonder how I can make the rest taste better…suggestions?!

Now I’m munching on a half frozen mango and some kashi heart to heart…and heading to the shower, then bed.

I’m pooped.

Hah.

Ha.

Is this now opening the door to me posting poop on my blog? If it is...I like it!

(we don't like those TJ nuggets either...Morningstar or Gardein are MUCH better)

LOVE your dress in the last post- too cute! You looked fabulous :) haha- I had the same question as Jenny, you must carry antibacterial gel out there with you like mad! Your hummus and veggie sammy looks terrific. As do the roasted veggies. I've been making a lot of roasted veggies lately and I am in lurve. So jealous of your Tjs! They need to put a distribution center between Charleston and Florida so they can open up some TJs in those areas- sooo annoying!

Owl pellets are so cool! This sounds really gross, but if you take them apart, sometimes you can find an entire skeleton of a small mammal inside. (Hey, you are a nature girl, I think you can appreciate the coolness of this fact :)) Your sammie looks yummy! I am so jealous of your TJ eats-wish I had one here!

Wow, hun...what long days! And I'm betting that 10hrs of your work is WAY harder than 10hrs of mine. I can see why you'd be exhausted by the end of the day!

Girl, you need to try the Gardein crispy tenders. They are awesome!
Owl pellets are pretty interesting to me. Maybe I am weird. :)

Those soy nuggets look really good! Too bad they weren't =( I will keep that in mind next time I go to TJ's. You could try to add some sort of spice to give them flavor? or red pepper flakes to spice them up

Owl pellets take me back - I used to work with a taxidermist (college bills, what can I say, not exactly my dream job) and as a "novelty" item, he sold reconstructed skeletons. Getting paid to sort through poop. Awesome.

your title cracked me up! and i totally dissected owl pellets in middle school...then we glued the skeletons together..it was actually a really cool project, considering i'm not normally into science and all that!
