Everyone, meet HONEY!
She’s a tabby…
2.5 months old…
I’ve had her oh (looks at watch) 3 hours and she already ripped a hole in my box spring to hide under my bed…
I rescued her from the humane society of (the city I live in)…
And is as sweet as can be.
Her name is actually Precious, but the second I saw her I automatically started calling her Honey so I think I might try to have her adapt to it. We’ll see how that goes!
I can’t wait to show you more of her in the future as she grows up into a beautiful cat and I live out a nice long life with her.
I can already feel the love…
As for food today…nothing too exciting. I don’t have too many pictures other than dinner but breakfast was great with my Jay Robb Vanilla Whey Protein Powder, frozen banana, blueberries, water and spinach. With PB Panda Puffs. Nom nom.
Dinner was a Chick’n burger with lettuce, tomato and mustard on bakery bread, with some carrots and pb.
And a mango on the side.
For dessert I tried a dark chocolate attune bar that’s been waiting to be eaten since I got it as a sample and it was really good! I’m glad it wasn’t super sweet like some other dark chocolates other than the ones I really like to eat and def helped settle my chocolate craving! I paired it with a handful of nuts and dried fruit to round out the night.
And now, I have to get ready to go to bed. Crazy right? This chick has to be up at 4am for point count surveys in the desert. Awesome way to spend my Thursday! But it’s almost Friday! YAY!

Oh my gossshhhh she is SO freaking cute!! Ohh the box springs... I swear that little trick is ingrained in every cat. The bottom of our bed is officially destroyed from our cat, but once we had him declawed, he quit doing it. If you're considering having her declawed, I would advise doing it while she is young and small. We had MAJOR drama with our cat... it was like the most traumatic thing ever.. for us AND the cat :-( Anyway, congrats on your new baby!
AWWWW!!!! She is absolutely incredibly adorable! So glad you did it! She'll try your nerves as she grows out of kittenhood but then she'll turn into this loving old kitty who does nothing but beg for attention and sleep. Good times. I often tell my cat that he's the only man in my life that I can depend on. Yeah, I talk to my cat. I'm normal like that. :)
Love you girl!
awww honey looks precious!!! (haha...ironic use of her names!) congrats on your baby!!!
So, if you don't have one, get a squirt bottle for training- and know that you'll have some nights where the kitten will wake you up... They are wonderful though! I love my pair!
Glad you found a kitty to share your home with. It's so awesome to have an animal to come home to at the end of the day. They just curl up and love you - even if they cause havoc while you're gone ;-)
Oh my gosh she's gorgeous!! I love the "Egyptian eyeliner" she has. My cat has the same markings, although *he* probably wouldn't appreciate me saying how beautiful his eyes are. ;) And he drools - I hope Honey doesn't. :D
Congratulations - I know you'll love having a little bundle of energy and love like that. Just remember, they don't think you own them...they own you!! haha!
Awwwwww, she really is precious! What a little sweetheart, I'm sure she will be a great companion. :)
Not trying to start drama or anything, but regarding the first comment, PLEASE do not declaw your cat (not sure if you are planning to or not, just saying). No matter what anyone says, it is very painful for them and leaves them completely vulnerable should they ever get outside and have to defend themselves. I know lots of vets that won't even do it since it's so terrible. Instead of declawing, start trimming her nails at an early age so she gets used to it. Scratching posts help a lot too!
Ahh! She's adorable. :)
Oh, Honey! Sneak her in your suitcase in September!
ADORABLE! I love the name Honey, too! She is too sweet :o) I'm so happy for you and your new addition!
Hope you have a great nights sleep, lovely lady!
AWW i love the cat!!! my fav animal everrr
ahh cutest cat ever! i like the name honey! look at those eyes...
Omg HONEY is adorbable!! So glad you got a cat. I'm totally missing mine right now, as it's at my parent's house because my dad probably wouldn't survive without him. I can't wait to move to an apartment (or find the time) to where I can have an animal.
What a blessing for you :)
She's ADORABLE!! As a fellow cat owner, I have to say, you've made an excellent choice :) She'll be a real comfort to you I can just tell!
Xx
She's so cute!
OMG! Please hug her and kiss her for me! She is the sweetest EVER!!! And I think "Honey" is just perfect. I love that face!!!
My heart just absolutely MELTED. That face is so adorable, baby animals are always so loving and sweet!! When my cats were kittens they used to sleep under the covers with me. I miss it! You'll make a great fur mom, and she'll always be around to cheer you up when you're feeling down!
She's beautiful Mel...and they're such fun when they're kittens. Granted, mine's now two and still thinks he's a kitten. I agree with keeping them clawed and just trimming their nails...if you have a designated scratching post or an old piece of furniture that can be scratched, she'll soon learn what's ok to scratch (mostly). If you're looking for litter options, I recommend 'feline pine'. It's basically little wood pellets and really keeps the odor down and is just generally nicer than the clay-based litters. Or you could try toilet training her... :)
Aww honey is adorable
Congratulations! You made an awesome choice; cats are amazing! I love my kitty to death. And don't worry, a kitten that age will easily adapt to a new name. We adopted a stray dog once, and even though he was much older, it only took him a couple of weeks before he would respond to his new name!
What a sweetie! That kitten is sooo cute!
YAYYYY for kitties! I used to have two and really miss them. Honey is absolutely adorable!
My cat, Molly, used to do the box spring thing. I had her for 18 years and she was a grey tabby like Honey!
Congrats!
Congrats, kittymama!!
I'm so jealous! She is soooo cute! I really want a cat terribly, but the place where I'll be living in St. Pete doesn't allow them . . .but 1 year from now, you better believe I'm going to get one too :) Congrats!
I was just talking about how I need a kitty in my life. Love her, she's so cute. :)
LOVE YOUR HONEY BUN! :) it's crazy how quickly you can fall in love with a pet. enjoy her! shes beautiful!
hope you survived your crazy wakeup call! I'm doing my marathon training run tom instead of Saturday so I'll be up at 4:30 to fit it in before work. If you can do it, I can do it :)
Hi again! Just to clarify my first comment, I wasn't trying to say that you should or shouldn't get your kitty declawed. After extensive research of both sides and trying other methods unsuccessfully, we had it done - the laser kind, supposedly "better" and "less painful". It was so horrible and traumatic, I regretted it right away. We had so many problems, our poor Ziggy ended up having an allergy to the glue they use (instead of the traditional stitches). Anyway, I guess this is pretty rare, but the whole experience was just a nightmare and it took him a long time to recover fully. I was just suggesting that if you're considering it, to do it while she is young/little because our cat was a little older/heavier and it made it worse for him (we found him as a stray and didn't know how old he was). I am not trying to argue for OR against it... just sharing my experience. Some cats have no issues at all, but looking back, I would not do it again with ours. (He is just fine now, though!) I've heard of people who were able to train their cats to use scratching posts or clip their nails like previous poster said. Anyway, I just wanted to clarify a little! Hope baby Honey is doing well! :-)
Honey is so cute! I hope she is adapting well to her new home!
I have never commented before, but I had to say congratulations! Honey is so incredibly cute. (And way to go for choosing a shelter cat.) When I got my kitten, it really made an enormous difference in my life and happiness, as cheesy as that sounds.
SO cute! I am actually more of a dog person but your kitty made me smile, adorable!
She is ADORABLE!!! Well done on adopting her and becoming a fur mommy!!
How are you getting on with the whey protein - i have a tub of Holland & Barratt Whey Protein in my cupboard and am a bit scared to try it - i probably need to do some research!
Keep the pictures coming of Precious Honey x
Ahh, congratulations. Even though I have a dog, I'm such a cat person. Such a cute little kitten. :)
