Fully Loaded

Get ready, this is gonna be a loaded post!  I had a great day yesterday!!!

Happy Sunday morning! I hope you all had great Saturdays and have relaxing Sunday’s planned too!  My brothers and friends are in town and I conned them to stay a bit later today to hang out with this lonely girl!  But back to last night…

After my 11 miler didn’t work out I cleaned up the apt a bit and settled on lunch, when actually, I never really had breakfast.  Anyhow, I settled with a tofu sandwich, a piece of Walnut Blueberry Bread and the rest of the apple from earlier in the morning, and filled out the afternoon with snacks like cereal and chocolate chips, rock melon, zucchini bread w/ naturally more pb and unsalted pb filled pb nuggets.

Wow, that was kinda a lot of food for the afternoon!

Anyhow, then, the excitement arrived:

020

Oh brothers, and their friends.

We figured the food and wine festival we were planning on going to wouldn’t do much to fill us up on food and booze, so we prepartied a bit…with a small dinner and wine.

I picked this up from TJ’s a while back and had yet to use it.  Pretty tasty, and has a bit of a spice that kicks your tongue!

My brother was awesome and brought two different bottles of wine for me to try:

These babies are GOOOOOOOD.  He’s leaving the rest of the bottles with me, which is about one serving in each.  I’m going to savor those puppies when I get the chance!

And not only did they bring the wine, but they brought the bombs too:

Sake bombs to be precise.  But because I didn’t have shot glasses we had to improvise:

This is my first one in my life.  I wasn’t too impressed, but I’m not much of a drinker so I don’t believe I can say much.

I don’t live too far away from where the festival was taking place so we decided to walk, and so we wouldn’t need a DD!

1.5 miles later we were there!

1742 1736 051

We turned in our tickets, got our wine glasses, food and drink passes and set out to explore the street!

057 056

Of course the first thing the boys saw was the beer glasses everyone was walking around we so we headed to that first.

They had three kinds of beer: Stella Artois, AmberBock and Shock Top

I started off with a Shock Top since I have had Stella and AmberBock before and didn’t like them very much.

I wasn’t a fan of this one either.  Oh well, I had a sip and passed it onto some others:

Since we had dinner at the house I was in the mood for some dessert and chocolate.  First stop, Linda’s Cake’s and Things for Cake Truffles!

 059 060

There were several varieties including Red Velvet, Carrot Cake, Walnut, and Cherry.  I decided to try the Red Velvet first.

061 062

Oh, my goodness. I wanted to swim in these things.  My brother and I were falling all over each other in delight over these things.  I’m most certainly going to try making these for something in the future!  Maybe my own 25th birthday next month!?

There were lots of other goodies to try and I had bites and bits of different things including several different Red Wines (1-2 sips),a White Wine, a Chardonnay, Fried Ravioli (a bite), Mixed Mushroom Cheese Ravioli (a bite), Bruschetta (whole thing), Onion Rings (whole thing), Apple Puff Pastry (whole thing), Pita and Hummus (1/2 of it), and Walnut and Carrot Cake Truffles…

Everyone else got to enjoy some other meat-centric foods like Quesadillas, Cheeseburgers, Brisket, Pulled Pork, and Breakfast Burritos:

Oh the goodness of chowing down:

070

I couldn’t have had better company:

And as we were all a bit giggly…we proceeded the 1.5 walk home, uphill, in a bit of the dark.

And the damage was done.
