Food Blog What?

I just realized, I haven’t done a real food post in weeks!  WEEKS people!  I almost forgot what it was like to lug my camera around to take pictures of my food all the time! Ok, maybe not lugging the camera around, but at least the food part!  Doesn’t mean I haven’t been eating though…but balanced eating is another whole story.  Yikes!

Anyhow, today started off on the right foot…out the door just after 6am for a long field day!  Even though it’s starting to get chilly out here in the mountains and even in the desert (I totally spelled dessert) I’ve been craving yogurt so there it was at 5.30am for breakfast!

Peach, plain greek yogurt (man, being in a small town means a single container of greek yogurt is like, $1.50) with some cinnamon and lots of kashi go lean crunch. You just can’t go wrong w/ that cereal.

Then, it was off into the sunrise:

And the cold:

Like the red on my face?  Yeah, that’s called hideous wind burn, and it hurts. I think I’m gonna need a mask when winter gets here! Yikes!

Most of the morning was doing surveys and time just flew by!  I was finding so many new birds I was in heaven (if you saw you FB or Tweets you would know!)  I couldn’t help but enjoy the scenery though…I <3 my job:

Lunch was tasty and I was quite impressed since I kinda made it in the dark at 5am…

I cooked some black beans with salsa earlier in the week and just mashed them up, layering it in some fresh bakery whole wheat bread w/ a large slice of tomato and red leaf lettuce.  Do you guys use a lot of lettuce in your sandwiches? I love a lot cause I like the crunch, and seriously, love the red leaf kind.  I’ll never go back to iceberg!  I also had some farmer’s market black grapes my mom got me when I was home after the wedding last weekend. They are soooo good!

I ended up feeling pretty under the weather when I got home finally around 3.30/4pm and ate a snack thinking it would help me feel better.  Uh, not so much.  Sure is pretty though!

Have I told you about my pumpkin apple chocolate chip bread?! What?! I haven’t!? Oh, I’ll have to share the recipe this weekend…and make another batch with my fresh apples!  Orchard apples are sooo tasty when they come from only a mile away!

My stomach was shot after that which even prevented me from going on my run so I stuck around home for…the rest of the night.  I really wanted to go for a run and almost forced myself, but I knew it would be better if I didn’t and listened to my body…besides, I have a date this weekend (what the what?!?!?!) so I can’t be sick for that!  These lips are sealed…maybe more later ;)

I bet you would have guessed it, but with my belly pissed off at the heavens and earth, I didn’t have an exciting dinner…which consisted of PB Puffins and strawberries.  I know, exciting.  That didn’t warrant a picture, so there is none. :D

Hopefully I’ll feel better tomorrow morning, at least I have this to look forward to!  And no rain!  But it’s gonna get colder!

Happy Friday!  And have you checked out Jenn’s part one and two wedding recaps!  The pictures are GORGEOUS!!!  And to see the other side of the emotions from the celebration is fun too!  You get hers as the bride, and mine as the guest!!!

Feel better. I think I'm starting to get a cold, so I understand the not feeling good/weird food thing. :)

Um, desert ALWAYS comes out dessert first. As it should, being the superior word. ;)
