It’s Here!!!!

Ahhhh!!!!

The SNOW came some time last night while I was sleep!!!  You should have seen the excitement on my face; I was like a little kid at Christmas I was so excited!

Lets rewind though shall we?

Saturday was a day of Whit and I being stuck inside because of the rain.  Now normally this wouldn’t stop me from going outside but when it’s raining and 40* that’s a whole other story.  I don’t know what I’m gonna do when I have to start training in the snow.  Yikes!

Anyhow, due to the cold yesterday morning all I wanted was my apple pb oats.  I know, awesome since I eat them every single morning out at work.  Creature of habit and well, the only warm kind food I can get my hands on in the morning that due the job! I gotta be warmed from the inside out!

I spent the morning baking up a storm for Whit and I of things like Veganomicon LF Banana Bread with Chocolate Chunks and Pear Ginger Bread (based on my Mixed Berry Bread).  Of course I had to taste test to make sure they were alright.  I used riper bananas this time which made the banana bread super moist and more banana-y and the pear ginger…well, I used the pears I got from Frog Hollow Farm at FB Fest and paired with the ginger, it was to die for!

After being overwhelmed with sweet eats I decided eating something savory would be good for me, so I had an open faced hummus cucumber tomato sandwich before watching How To Train A Dragon with Whit.

I had an interesting variety of snacks throughout the afternoon including another piece of banana bread and the following:

Definitely not the best mixture since I ended up with an upset stomach a few hours later.  Cranky Melissa ensued.  Whit and I thought it would be a good idea for our bellies and cabin fever (yes, already and we're only on day one) to go out for a short walk, even though it was drizzling, cold and windy.  Whatever, I needed the fresh air!

When we got back I was feeling a bit better but Whit ended up with a nasty headache so we took some down time with Honey.

I ended up just eating a pita and some whole wheat crackers for dinner before calling it a night.  that was hard to eat anyhow since the other night I must have been grinding my teeth and gnawed a nice chunk of my cheek off on the right side.  I can’t even smile it hurts so badly.  Makes eating one of the hardest things on the planet!  Yick!

But who cares about yesterday, since this was what I woke up to this morning!!!

SNOW!!!

Seriously, I have not been this giddy in such a long time (ok, given my first date with Whit a bit ago, but you know…haha)!

I immediately piled on the layers and ran outside to go play and walk around!!!

Now I’m off to fend off the fever I think I have and figure out my work week.  Looks like I’ll be working on Thanksgiving Day…so thank goodness I’m going to have the holiday with my family on Friday!

And congrats to everyone that ran this morning!!!  I’m jealous and so proud of all of you!!!
