Don’t tell me you don’t do crazy things to keep your food warm or safe…
So you wanna know how I keep my oats nice and warm on my 45+ minute drives out into the field? I wrap them of course…
In my fleece tops!!!!
Bahahahaha…I know, crazy right? But hey, it works since it’s usually around 40*F when I get in the car and still have the drive to endure before I can eat. And believe me, when it’s that cold out, you want warm outs to fill your belly when you get the chance to eat.
Just my normal apple and pb oats. They seriously never get old to me. Everyday baby!
I’ve started a new project for work…and lets just say it’s not the most entertaining…cause I get to stare at the sky for 8 hours looking for a few kinds of birds…so today was very low key. Luckily I brought lots of food and snacks to nosh on throughout the long day!
Before lunch came around I snack on a piece of Chocolate Pumpkin Bread but boredom got the best of me so I ended up just eating my lunch. And boy was it tasty.
I picked up that awesome cheddar cheese from TJ’s that comes from NZ and paired it up with a 1/4 of an avocado I had left, some mustard, lettuce and tomato, all stuffed in 1/2 a pita round. I had a nice pear on the side, but it totally needed to be cold to taste better. Do you ever feel like that? That certain vegetables or fruits taste way better cold?
I snacked on a few carrots and a piece of Banana Bread in the afternoon before heading off to a very much needed meeting w/ my counselor. I’m sure you can imagine how that when after reading my Foodbuzz’d Emotions post.
I was feeling pretty out of it physically and emotionally by this evening and felt like I was getting sick but I had a sweet visitor come to save my night with a warm and TJ’s filled dinner (Thanks Whit).
Anyone had this Lentil Soup? It’s pretty tasty!
The sodium content was a bit high for me so I added some water to it to keep it from killing me by the end of the night.
To round out the meal there had to be some carbs of course, not that I hadn’t gotten enough already today, and noshed on some stuffed focaccia from TJ’s too. I liked the veggie combo on the inside, and ended up eating two pieces.
And what else would be better to round out a night of feeling sick than some Dark Chocolate Covered Edamame? Boy knows the way to my heart…with chocolate of course. Nom nom.
Since I’ve feelin’ sick, I’m off to bed early tonight…since I’m probably going to spend the weekend at home waiting for first snowfall!!!! YAY!!!!

Feel better. I know it's been a little rough lately, but things will look up soon. :)
That's an awesome trick to keep food warm! I brought oats as a snack today when I was out and about but they got cold. I didn't know to wrap them in a fleece yet.
Oh yum - that TJ's dinner sounds awesome!
ha - what CAN'T fleece do?!?
Oh! I just tried that stuffed veggie bread from TJ earlier this week. I was impressed :) Hope things start clearing up for you for the wknd.
Aww I love that he brought you food from TJ's!! Either he's super smart, or he's been reading blogs and knows that TJ's is the way to any foodie heart :) Which reminds me that I haven't had their dark chocolate edamame in way too long!
you are so blessed lately!! focus on the friends you spent time with at fbz instead of the food. focus on that damn hot bf of yours instead of your own body!! Remember whit needs attention too...ED can be such a "selfish" or self involved disease...and lonely...this is the time when support is needed the most girlie!! let me know!!
Genius use of a fleece!
This makes me want oats right now.
Feel better! Sounds like Whit is a great guy!
Love your oatmeal heater method - sounds like it works well!
Great TJ's dinner! What a nice treat after a not so stellar day at work. Hope you're feeling better already, hun....
What a great boy:)
ANd I'm totally with you on the cold fruit - pears and apples must be cold!
I'm so jealous of your meals with a view, amazing pics! And what a sweet guy. Hope you feel better soon.
Chocolate Pumpkin Bread? Sounds interesting and delicious.
On a side note, I would really like to thank you for being so courageous and open about your struggles with food. By reading your posts, I FINALLY got the courage earlier this week to post something on my own blog about my struggles. I didn't go into to much detail about it, but it's a start. It is because of people like you that I realized that it's ok to talk about my past. :)
Oats never get old to me either!
I love apples, oranges, grapes, watermelon, and pears all cold! (well, most fruits I think actually!)
