And The Beat Goes On…

Remember that Brittney Spears song?  I know you do…rock on.  Rock on.

Oh wait, it was originally a Cher song.  Whatever, BS all the way!

I was not in the mood for breakfast today.  I haven’t been the past few days actually, so I kept it simple.  Don’t want to overwork something you simply don’t want, right?

Some Kashi Heart 2 Heart with a banana and USVAB.  Nothing special or exciting.

I headed out into the field and it took much much longer than anticipated, so the snacks I brought weren’t very…adequate.  You can bet I was hungry the time I got home.  All in all, it consisted of an apple, an orange and the following:

I know ,exciting right?  Hummus and bell pepper slices…At least the banana bread had chocolate chips in it…

I had some entertainment along the way though:

I got so close to them!  Ok, actually they just kept getting closer to me…

He’s coming towards me!   Oh no!  I will not take part in domesticating a wild animal…off I drive!!!

By the time I got home I didn’t have much time before I was going running with a friend, so I slammed down a few handfuls of olive oil popcorn and ran out the door.

4.0 miles later I knew I had overdone it for the week. I’ve already run 18 miles this week and well, that’s what I usually run a week.  I still have a 9 miler I’m doing on Saturday for 1/2 marathon training!  So I made sure to ice up my knee because I can’t screw it up now!  I’ll be devastated (though send some healing vibes to Miss Jenn so her knee can recover and she can start training! we have 5 weeks left!)

I started on laundry while I cleaned up and started on dinner…Honey was a fan of the warmth.  So was I.  Cause it’s chilly.

“Don’t mess with me. I’ll claw your eyes out in your sleep. And then eat them. Rawr.”

I’m not one to waste food so leftovers it was!  Although…I don’t like to eat leftovers one day after the other…so I’m swapping out days: Leftover Vegetarian Chili!

I added some veggies to the chili like broccoli, cauliflower and brussell sprouts, and paired it with some Kashi Crackers.

I had to end the night on a good note after the past week…it’s been a hard one.

Ergo: Peppermint Oreo Bark.

Nom.Nom.Nom.

I promise I will post the recipe soon.  Like when I make it again this weekend.

Though I’ve been informed they now have PB Oreos at TJ’s too.  Holy shizzle I just pee’d my pants.  WHIT!!! GET ME THOSE COOKIES!!!!

Smile

Happy Friday!

Some of Britney Spears' older songs are actually really bad. And not the good kind of bad haha. Oh my gosh, your cat has grown so much since you got her. She's gorgeous!!

I can't believe those horses were coming at you, that's too funny.

Ah, please post a recipe for the peppermint oreo bark ASAP! Looks great! :)

It's a good thing that you are taking care of your knees! Around the 9 mile mark is when I screwed up my IT bands because I was way overtraining and not taking preventative care! Sounds like you are on the right page though and will be fine! :)

Have a great Friday!

Oh Britney. Of course I know that song. Your oreo bark was a hot commodity after my final btw. Congrats on the running. I watched "Spirit of the Marathon" this weekend and am PUMPED for distance running right now!

Hi! I'm a silent observer, but I thought I'd leave a comment. Your blog has really helped me make better food choices and get closer to the realization that food is not the enemy. You eat such balanced and healthy food - the ideal. *wishing you all the best* ~Elisa.
