This is how I’ve been feeling lately.
This weather is getting Honey and I down. I’m sick o f the snow already, but according to locals I have another month and a half to live through before spring really comes into swing…why did I not go back to FL again this spring!? I’ll take the humidity now thank you…
Anyhow, my appetite has been totally wonky the past few days and really, I am not eating things I want to eat, but just to eat and get the meal over with. How un-fun is that for a food blogger? So yesterday I just had banana, pb and cranberry oats with cinnamon. Nothing exciting.
I tried to do work yesterday but there has been so much rain and snow that the ground is saturated and super hard to drive on…this is when I need off road tires…because I currently use street ones. No bueno.
Oh, and then it started snowing. Or was a flurry. Whatever, it had me frustrated and hoping to god I wasn’t going to get another flat. Can you tell how cold it is? I’m wearing under armor under a down jacket AND a tshirt. low 30’s anyone?
When I left this morning I had no ideas for lunch, so I just threw random things into my lunch bag and left. I brought the very last and little of my hummus, which I added some red pepper and artichoke spread to, with lots of water crackers and clementines.
Then I decided to try one of the bars I got at the Natural Products Expo. I’ve actually never even had a regular ProBar because they’re always so expensive but decided to give this Halo S’Mores Bar a try…
Well, if you like gooey bars this one will spark your fancy. But as far as the flavor went…uh, not so much. I guess I expected more chocolate and I had maybe one marshmallow, which was way too sticky even then.
So…out of 10, I give the bar a 3. Sorry ProBar, maybe next time…
I was a bit worried the entire morning and into the afternoon because the sky looked like this, and knew would turn into this:
Gahh…So.Much.Snow.
I had an incident that I can’t really discuss this afternoon that left me absolutely exhausted mentally after a severe adrenaline rush and needed a pick me up before the gym. Three of these milk chocolate pb cups and I was set to go.
When I switched gyms I was allowed to start going to the classes they offer and decided to take advantage of one this afternoon. I had no idea what the Stretching and Toning class would be like, but it ended up being a mix of yoga and pilates. I may have been the youngest person in the class, but hey, it was really nice! I used it to loosen up for my 4 mile run and 1 mile walk afterwards, along with getting ready for my HALF MARATHON IN OAKLAND THIS WEEKEND!!! I’m keeping my finger’s crossed that the rain will be at bay Sunday morning when I run and won’t end up like the runners after the LA Marathon last weekend who got hypothermia!
I wasn’t super hungry after the workout so I waited until my stomach was really growling to dig into my leftover frozen veggie soup that I had thawing out all day long. I had leftover greens from my stir fry so I added those in for more color, along with a few meatless meatballs that basically disintegrated in the bowl. It may be ugly, but it had color and tasted great!
I ended the night by noshing on some TJ’s Olive Oil Popcorn then falling sleep with Honey on my lap. I eventually made it to bed though…
It’s still gloomy this morning, but at least Honey is staying entertained by watching the birds in the trees…and really, as much as I hate the snow, it’s really pretty.
Again, no idea what I wanted for breakfast. I’m burned out on oats, I didn’t want cereal, am out of soy yogurt and just indecisive. I ended up just grabbing random things out of the fridge and made a decent breakfast! I scrambled up an egg and stuffed it in half a pita with some salsa, topping the other half of the pita w/ some earth balance and raspberry jam with a side of strawberries.
And then tweeted that I had a handful of chocolate chips at 8.30am.
I loved everyone comments to reassure me that it’s not a crime…right? Yes!
Now I’m going to get some office work done and hit the gym before the snow comes into town!

I'm not sure how I've missed this before, but the view from your window is GORGEOUS. Seriously, so pretty- reminds me of the Colorado Rockies in the winter!!
I agree, your view is phenomenal!
Beautiful pink color on your shirt!
ha! I had a brownie for breakfast this morning. :)
That's exactly how I feel! I don't feel like anything to eat really so I've been snacking all day. Ugh. I wish someone would meal plan for me. I don't know what happened to my appetite/cravings.
