September

Oh September, I hope you are going to be a great month.  Since June, things have not been as well as I would hope.  So September, bring back the joy that I’m missing.

This is how I’m going to get through September with a smile on my face:

-Announce my big announcement.  It’s been something I should have done a long time ago, but I’ve finally took the plunge.  You’ll see within a week, I promise!

-Run a race.  There is a trail race in my town next weekend that I want to run and it’s to benefit the local Humane Society, where I adopted Honey.  I didn’t get to run the normal race I do in August every year, so this one will replace it.  I’m excited to run my first trail race, because another one is coming in November!

-Celebrate with my best college buddies, because one of them is engaged.  I've got to take the time to spend with them because I live so far away from them and I just simply haven’t been a good enough friend to them since we left college in 2007.  I miss them dearly and can’t wait to see them next weekend.

-Kauai.  I’m going back again in a few weeks and want to let myself go while I’m there.  I’m not saying that I didn’t when I was there last time, but you k now, the body issues have come back since the marathon and I want to be able to surf without feeling like a cow.  That is just no freak’n fun.

-I turn 26 on the 20th.  Yep, September is my birthday month!  I seriously feel like this year flew by from my last birthday…I mean look at my hair!  Haha, ok, I’m not serious about that but you get the idea…

-No guilt.  I’m going to step away as hard as I can from any sort of guilt: food, exercise, money, time, blogging, etc.  Lots of things lately have been making me anxious and not good enough, so I need to work on that.  I’ve got two sessions with my counselor this months so we’ll see what I can get done with her.

So, what are you doing this September?  Tell me your exciting events coming up this month!

Good luck on your September and enjoy Kauai! Do you go to the islands often? I've been going back and forth for 5 years now (since I started school there in 2006.) Kauai is so beautiful and has some really great veggie foods (hiding amongst a lot of not so veggie-friendly food!)

I like the no guilt goal - I need to do that too! I am way to hard on myself and think I should be superwoman: workout all the time, eat perfectly, do well in all my classes, have a great blog, etc, etc... No one is perfect!

I'm so excited to hear your big news! I love your goals, especially the no guilt goal. Especially with my last year of university starting I know I'm going to be putting the pressure on high, and I want to avoid guilt at all costs!

September is def the best month- my bday month too, exactly a week after yours! Those all sound like great plans... I too have had a lot of stress and anxiety lately prepping for the first day of school [my first day of teaching] and although I haven't dipped back into my ED tendencies, I've gotten more OCD, but I've recognized it and not letting it take over!

WTF IS YOUR BIG ANNOUNCEMENT? you moving? Anyways I want to get back on track with my healthy eating. I've been really sad about the 5 lbs I've gained. :(

What a lovely idea to kick off a new month! I'm glad that I found you right on the brink of some big news, your blog is already super exciting ;) I'm big on the no guilt goal like many of your other readers. Mirrors and scales are tools, not pointing fingers!

I love Kauai endlessly. I currently live on Oahu. Not bad either way, I guess. ;) Feeling a connection to the aloha of the islands can be such a peaceful thing... I hope all your guilt melts away and you enjoy the beauty of the land.
